Initially I tend to explore the connection between our thoughts/feelings/actions from a CBT perspective. If there is a disconnect between thoughts and feelings (for example a patient may say they know they are good enough but often feel like that is not true), I tend to turn towards EMDR and explore core beliefs. I believe our life experiences can shape our beliefs about ourselves and EMDR is extremely helpful for identifying negative beliefs and reprocessing the experiences that birthed them.
I work with adults and teens.
My first goal is to help patients feel safe and comfortable. I find it such an honor that people trust me with their story and I want to get to know and understand them and their concerns and struggles. I am passionate about helping patients achieve their unique goals and I see myself as an interactive guide in that process. I also think that sometimes life is really hard and it is powerful to have someone sit with you in the hard and gently remind you of truth and hope when you are ready to hear it. We all need help.
My Dad is a Marriage and Family Therapist and my Mom was a Social Worker, so from a young age I was interested in helping people in that capacity. I also believe the Lord wired me as a reflective listener and I often found myself playing that role in relationships. In 2015, after graduating with my undergrad, I started working as an Administrative Assistant at WellSpring. I got to know and work with a lot of amazing counselors and I quickly developed a hunger for being on the other side of the door getting to do the work of counseling.
Ha its wild. My husband and I have four kids and we really love enjoying their unique personalities and the different ages/ stages so that keeps us busy. We love being outside, throwing a frisbee or walking and playing games together. I'm passionate about loving and serving my local church and love having people in our home to share good food with them. When I get a quiet moment, you would probably catch me laying in the sun with a good book or working on a project with my husband.
A midwife or L&D nurse. I think there is something so sacred about bringing a baby into the world.
